DIVE IN HONDURAS

Honduras Community & Marine Conservation Project

JOURNEY: Honduran Bay Islands
PURPOSE: Research and Conservation
DURATION: 6 weeks
Join our Summer Team travelling to Utila and scuba dive off the stunning coast of the Honduran Bay Islands in the crystal clear, tropical Caribbean. Help conduct much needed outreach and conservation work for the local people living off the Mesoamerican barrier reef system.
  • Dive in the crystal waters of the Caribbean and see the diversity of Utila’s reef.
  • Experience a more relaxed pace of life in the Bay Islands with your Quest team.
  • Learn about marine ecology & conservation and how to conduct survey dives.
  • Contribute to the protection of Utila’s marine resources and the Islanders way of life through educational workshops and outreach work.

Our Honduras Expedition gives you the opportunity to participate in unique projects in conjunction with our partners on Utila. This is a fantastic opportunity to become involved with marine research, do a lot of diving and get a feel for life in a small island community. You will assist in coverting scientific outputs into educational resources and practical conservation.

Our Expedition runs in May and July and includes diving alongside dolphins, turtles and other impressive marine life. You can join for 6 weeks. The peak Whale Shark season on Utila is March to May, if you’re lucky enough you might spot one out there. Otherwise you can head to Mozambique for more Whale Shark encounters...
