So what are your resolutions? Everyone asks the same question at this time of year – and maybe you’re trying to think of ways and things to do to make yourself a better person. Well we have a perfect solution for you, it sounds dramatic but it is possible and extremely rewarding - CHANGE SOMEONE’S LIFE THIS SUMMER.
By volunteering with Quest you will significantly impact someone's life as well as your own with the fantastic experience that you have. Two months ago Quest were Highly Commended as Best Volunteering Organisation based on Responsible Travel principles. This is a fantastic accolade based on the fact that we work with our projects for the long-term, ensure that you pay a significant donation to the project so that it can survive even when you have returned home and base our whole ethos around changing people's lives.
If you would like to help then book yourself onto one of our volunteer projects for this summer or make sure you choose Quest as your gap year provider. This will ensure you really are changing lives for the better rather than just going on a voluntourism holiday. If you have been away with Quest before then you know what positive impact you could have - and remember all returning volunteer are eligible for a discount of £150.
So in what ways do you change someone's life? At Christmas we received over 25 letters from children in Africa thanking us and our volunteers for their help and financial support. Here are some quotes from these letters. If you would like a New Years Resolution that really makes a difference and has this impact then call us on 01444 474744.
"I want to thank you and all the people of Quest for paying school fees ... I am a form one young boy aged 15 years, and I thank you again for buying me school uniform; even my parents are very, very happy, and they say thank you too. They could not manage to do all that you have done for me." - Girt Norngoma
"With the work you've done, before I was like a goat without the owner as well as a car without a driver and wanted to write with words of appreciation. I am Joseph Chisesa. I am one of the orphans who lost both parents and I am waiting for my results ... I assure you that this coming year I will be in university to do a course of my dreams. Another purpose is to inform you that I have found a penpal from Quest and played football with Richard, Mike and John from Quest, also doing hard work of building our school together until we finished" - Joseph Chisesa
"I want to talk to you about the Quest boys and girls that were here at Chitakale for one month. Those people according to our behaviour were so good. We were working together, walking together and playing football. So I am very happy because of this Quest group and my donor." - Wyson Tivalenji
