ESCAPE: VOLUNTEER ON A WATER RELIEF PROJECT IN KENYA & EXPERIENCE THE WILDLIFE

Kenya Community,Wildlife & Beaches Escape

JOURNEY: Kenya
PURPOSE: Community, Maasai Mara & coast
DURATION: 2 weeks, departing 1st June & 7th September 2008
Spend one week building water dams with the local community. Search for game in the Maasai Mara and swim with dolphins off the stunning Kenyan coast.

Our WaterRelief Project is in the dry, central rural Machakos district. You will work closely with the local community to build sand-dams and water tanks to aid the collection and supply of water. This project gives you the unique opportunity to get to experience the ‘other’ side of Africa, that most visitors never get a chance to see.
The Maasai Mara, made famous by the Big Cat Diaries, is one of Africa’s top Game Reserves. After a few days searching for the big five, we visit the spectacular beaches of the ancient Swahili coastline. The white sands and palm trees of Tiwi Beach await, where we spend the last few days relaxing beside the crystal blue waters or taking a dhow out to swim with dolphins.

COST: £1250 + £400 project donation=£1650 (including all activities, food, tipping, airport transfers, accommodation and a £400 donation to Excellent Development, excluding flights and insurance) see full cost breakdown
