CAREER BREAK VOLUNTEERING ON A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Peru Construction & Community Project

JOURNEY: Peru
PURPOSE: Construction & Community Development
DURATION: Departs June & Nov '09. Join for 2 to 6 weeks.
Bring much needed help to the lives of the poorest children and families of Villa Maria shanty-town, where people scrape a living by any means possible.

Join Quest Sabbaticals on our longest running project in the heart of one of Latin America’s largest shanty-towns – Villa Maria.

Whilst the focus of the project during the Peruvian summer (Jan-Mar) is playing with the kids, work shifts to the more physical for the rest of the year. We need help building simple but stable houses for the most disadvantaged families within the communities. You can help these people improve their living conditions so that they can give their families a real home.

· Help build much needed homes for families who formerly lived in shacks
· Assist with after-school activities for local disadvantaged children
· Work alongside local staff to hold Sunday fun-days for families in Villa Maria
